This term our overall topic is:

In English, we will be studying the books Holes by Louis Sachar and Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. We will use these texts to inform written work on flashbacks, dialogue and character description.

In Maths we will cover place value, including number order, rounding and negative numbers; addition and subtraction, including mental studies and inverse operations; multiplication and division, including multiples, factors, square and cube numbers, prime numbers and multiplying by 10,100 and 1,000; fractions, including equivalence, improper fractions and mixed numbers, comparing and ordering fractions and addition and subtraction of fractions.

In Science, we are studying life cycles and the light.

In History, we are studying leisure and entertainment in the 20th century.

In Geography we will be doing fieldwork including study of the beach, creating maps, collecting data, comparing physical and human features and analysing the local economy.
