On Thursday 27th April 2024 Harwich appointed it's newest High Steward, whose children attended St Joseph's Catholic Primary School, Sue Daish. 

Only 24 places in England have the right to elect a High Steward and Harwich was granted it's Royal Charter by King James 1st in 1604.

A group of Year 5 pupils were honoured to attend the ceremony in St Nicholas Church, Harwich.
