Phonics

Monday:

Reception – If your child has completed phase 5 phonics, please can they recap and work on any they are unsure of. If you are still working through phase 3 and 4 please continue. New tricky word – saw.

Year 1 – Dictation – Adult please encourage your child to write sentences as independently as they can.

Jake had lights and strong brakes on his bike.

They sat outside and watched the moon rise.

The firemen used a hosepipe to put out the fire.

 

Tuesday:

Reception – Same as yesterday. New tricky word – very.

Year 1 – The rest of the week will be a recap of spelling tricky words:

Phase 4 – said, have, like, so, do. Ext – Write them in sentences.

 

Wednesday:

Reception – If you have recapped and consolidated phase 5, please now do the same with phase 3. If you are still working through phase 3 and 4 please continue. New tricky word – put.

Year 1 – Phase 4 tricky words: some, come, were, there (please explain meaning of the word there and that it can be spelt differently and have a different meaning). Ext – Write them in sentences.

 

Thursday:

Reception – Same as yesterday. New tricky word – oh.

Year 1 – Phase 4 tricky words: little, one, when, out, what. Ext – Write them in sentences.

 

Friday: Spellings and handwriting – Click on icon labelled other for handwriting, or feel free to use the pen pal sheets you have. For spellings please do also revise any previous ones that your child has been unsure of.

Reception – the, to, I, no, go, into.

Year 1 – ran, know, bear, can’t, again.
