Science related to Art task
https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/clips/z3mb9qt What makes a shadow? Recap some of the terms we used when learning about materials. Think how the way the sun moves throughout the day may affect the sizes and shapes of shadows.
Your task is to set up a scene to create a shadow. Choose 2 or more times through the day to draw and make the shadow outline. What differences do you notice? Watch the clip below to inspire you to create your own shadow set up.
Extra curriculum areas:
This week I’d really like you to have a boost with the ‘Times tables’ rockstars app! If anyone does not know how to use the user name and password then please contact me but it should be initial and surname followed by our generic password. For example:
rfrancis This is all lowercase
Rockstars1 Only a capital R
Please remind the children that all personal data is private and that it would break safeguarding rules if they were to access someone else’s account without permission.
I would love to see the children aiming to gain: Year 2 - 5,000 more coins Year 1 – 2,000
Please see this as a challenge and let me know your weekly total!
Other area of focus is handwriting: Please choose your favourite extract from your current reading book to copy out as neatly as you can. The document for parents shows which letters can be joined together to please focus on this. Please make sure all letter start at the top and are formed correctly. Look back through previous writing and get the children to see if they can notice any letters that have not been formed at the correct starting point. If you are not sure then please email.
