Inauguration Ceremony of High Steward of Harwich

On Thursday 27th April 2024 Harwich appointed it's newest High Steward, former pupil of St Joseph's Catholic Primary School, Sue Daish. 

Only 24 places in England have the right to elect a High Steward and Harwich was granted it's Royal Charter by King James 1st in 1604.

A group of Year 5 pupils were honoured to attend the ceremony in St Nicholas Church, Harwich.
