English: linked to DT, art, science and music. The first part of this week we will be working towards making percussion instruments from materials that you explored last week.

Monday: All children need to think about and design an instrument that they can make later this week. Please draw your instrument in exercise book.

Reception – Please label what materials you will use for the different parts.

Year 1 – List ALL of the resources you will need to create your instrument.

 

Tuesday: All children to write a plan of how they will make their chosen instrument.

Reception – Try to write at least 3-5 simple sentences, can you read them yourself? Can your adult read them? Remember those capital letters, finger spaces and full-stops.

Year 1 – Please make your plan as detailed as you can. At the end of your plan I would like you to explain why you chosen the materials that you have. Re-read what you have written, does it make sense? Do you need to self-correct any errors? Discuss what you have written with a family member.

 

Wednesday: All children to follow their plan and make their instrument.

 

Thursday: All children to evaluate their masterpiece! Was your plan successful? If yes, why was it? If no, why wasn’t it? Would you change/modify your design? Yes? No? Why?

Now have lots of fun creating some wonderful music, EXT write a short song or poem to go alongside.

 

Friday: Next week we will be learning about ‘the effects of humans on the environment. Please watch and listen to ‘The messy magpie’ story ready for Monday.
